Changelog

A public record of changes to ProviderScout. We publish here whenever we add features, update content, change how the ranking algorithm works, launch partnerships, update pricing, or make any other change that affects how the directory works.

Why we keep a public changelog: If we change how something works, you should be able to see exactly when it changed and why. This is how we hold ourselves accountable to the commitments on our How ProviderScout Works page. If you ever notice something on ProviderScout that doesn't match what's documented here, email hello@decisionlab.com.au.

Published transparency documentation

Published three new documentation pages explaining how ProviderScout actually works:

These pages formalise commitments we've held since launch but hadn't yet written down publicly. Writing them down is the point — they're only real if they're checkable.

April 2026

Internal linking improvements across 8,662 provider profiles

Converted provider profile cards from JavaScript-based navigation to standard HTML links so search engines and screen readers can follow them properly. Added an "Other providers in [district]" sidebar to every profile with 4 cross-links to nearby providers in the same district, making it easier to compare options without returning to a search page.

This was the single biggest accessibility and SEO improvement since launch — 412 internal links on Sydney profiles, 472 on Brisbane, 386 on Inner Eastern Melbourne, 284 on Parramatta, with zero broken navigation paths.

April 2026

Verified Business and NDIS Registered badges

Launched a dual-badge verification system for claimed listings. The "Verified Business" badge confirms that the provider's ABN has been independently verified against the Australian Business Register. The "NDIS Registered" badge confirms that the provider's NDIS registration number has been checked against the NDIS Commission register.

Both badges are free. Any provider who can produce a valid ABN and NDIS registration number can have them. Verification status is a factor in organic ranking — see How We Rank Providers for details.

April 2026

OpenStreetMap data expansion

Added 628 provider listings sourced from OpenStreetMap (ODbL licensed) covering Specialist Disability Accommodation, physiotherapy, assistive technology, support workers, and psychology categories. OSM data is attributed in the page footer as required by the ODbL licence.

Total provider count is now 9,504 across all 80 NDIS service districts.

April 2026

AdSense compliance pages

Published required compliance pages (contact, cookie consent, ads.txt) and added About and Contact links to the footer of every page across the site. These are required for display advertising and were added in preparation for launching display ads once approved.

Display advertising will appear on content pages only (guides, articles, budget calculator), never on provider listing pages in a way that could be mistaken for organic results.

March 2026

ProviderScout launched

The directory went live covering 8,875 providers across all 80 NDIS service districts, with programmatic pages for services, suburbs, and disability types. Free for participants, free for providers to claim and update their listings.

Built by a family who needed NDIS support and couldn't find an honest, comprehensive directory that worked for them.

New entries are added to the top of this page whenever something changes. If you're a developer, we may publish an RSS feed for this changelog in the future — let us know if that would be useful.
