About Equal Access Care

Equal Access Care is a registered NDIS provider operated as Equal Access Care Pty Ltd (ABN 98 672 339 534), an Australian private company. The NDIS Commission's register records the provider as Approved, with registration in force until 31 July 2028, across thirteen registration groups spanning personal care, household support, community participation, transport, nursing care, SIL, support coordination and life skills.

The business operates from two serviced offices — 117/530 Little Collins Street, Melbourne VIC 3000 and 29/97 Creek Street, Brisbane City QLD 4000 — and takes referrals across Australia, metropolitan and regional. The Commission register's head office of record is Braybrook VIC 3019.

In their own words: “Support built around your life, not our schedule. The same workers each week, plain-language communication, and hours that suit you, for self-managed, plan-managed and NDIA-managed participants, metropolitan and regional.” Equal Access Care says it calls referrers back the same day and tells them honestly when supports can start.

Services Equal Access Care provides

The services below are the ones Equal Access Care advertises on its own website and which the NDIS Commission's register also holds for this ABN. Availability can vary, so confirm directly that a specific support is offered and fits your plan.

  • Personal care and daily living support — hands-on help with the parts of the day that take the most out of you, delivered the way you prefer it done
  • Community and social participation — support to get out and do the things you want to do, not a pre-set activities timetable
  • Supported Independent Living (SIL) — support in a shared or individual home, arranged around how you live
  • Support coordination — someone in your corner who knows the system, so your plan turns into real support
  • Building daily living skills — working towards doing more yourself, at whatever pace makes sense for you

The register also holds further groups for this ABN that the website does not list in its own service tiles: Household Tasks, Assistance with Travel and Transport, Group and Centre-based Activities, and Community Nursing Care. If you need one of these specifically, ask Equal Access Care directly whether they currently offer it.

Registration conditions

Three conditions are recorded on this provider's registration by the Commission. They are reproduced below in the register's own words:

1. “A condition has been imposed, for providers of 0107 Assistance with daily personal activities, for risk assessment of participants who choose to be supported by a single worker.”

2. “A condition is imposed for a Certification audit to be conducted on site, including provision of revised responses to the NDIS Practice Standards, three months after service delivery commences.”

3. “A variation condition is imposed for the assessment of Module 5A: Assistance with SIL. The audit must be conducted as part of the provider's mid-term audit, which must commence by 1 February 2027.”

Two of the three set when parts of the provider's audit are conducted; the other requires a risk assessment for participants who choose to be supported by a single worker. The Commission's page for Equal Access Care Pty Ltd holds the current version.

Who can use a registered provider

Equal Access Care says on its own site that it takes referrals from self-managed, plan-managed and NDIA-managed participants. For an NDIA-managed participant, a registered provider is usually required, and Equal Access Care is registered.

For an SIL arrangement, mid-term audits and the Module 5A SIL variation above are part of how the Commission oversees quality in a home-based setting. Ask what the audit cycle looks like before signing a service agreement that puts you in a shared living arrangement.

What to ask before choosing an NDIS provider

Ask who would actually be providing your support and what happens if that person is away. Continuity of worker often matters more than any claim on a brochure, and the provider's own site makes 'the same workers each week' a specific commitment.

Ask for the hourly rates in writing, including weekend, evening and public-holiday rates, how travel is charged, and the cancellation policy, before the first shift.

For a registered provider, complaints can go to the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission as well as to the provider directly.
