Tenax Supports
About Tenax Supports
Tenax Supports is a disability-support business operating from Tarneit in Melbourne's west. It is the trading name of National Community Assistance Services Pty Ltd (ABN 46 680 584 749), an Australian private company active on the Australian Business Register since September 2024. The NDIS Commission's register holds the registration under the company name, with the head office recorded as Tarneit VIC 3029.
In their own words: “Our mission is to empower individuals with disabilities to live independent, fulfilling lives through compassionate care, respect, and personalised support.” The provider also delivers Support at Home (aged-care) work alongside its NDIS services; aged-care supports are funded separately and are not covered by this listing.
Services Tenax Supports provides
The services below are the ones Tenax Supports' own website advertises AND that are covered by its current NDIS registration groups. Each is matched to the registration group that covers it on the Commission's register.
- Supported Independent Living (SIL) — shared or individual support in a home-like setting
- In-home support — personal care — assistance with daily routines, hygiene and personal activities
- In-home support — household tasks — help keeping a safe, clean home
- Life skills & skill building — developing practical skills for independent living
- Day programs — centre- and group-based activities
- After-school programs — youth skill development out of school hours
- Employment programs — help to find and keep work, including specialist support for employment
The register also holds six further groups for this ABN that the website does not advertise: Accommodation/Tenancy, Innovative Community Participation, Participate Community, Assist-Travel/Transport, Assist-Life Stage Transition, and Daily Tasks/Shared Living. If you need one of these specifically, ask Tenax Supports directly whether they currently offer it.
Tenax Supports has told us that Positive Behaviour Support and Social Work, which also appear on their website, are delivered by sub-contracted specialists under those specialists' own registrations rather than under Tenax Supports' own NDIS registration groups. They are not listed above for that reason. If one of those services is important to you, ask who the sub-contracted specialist is and confirm that specialist's registration separately.
Registration conditions
Three conditions are recorded on this provider's registration by the Commission. They are reproduced below as the register records them; one apostrophe appears as a question mark in the register's text and has been written as a normal apostrophe here:
1. “A variation condition is imposed for the assessment of Module 5A: Assistance with SIL. The audit must be conducted as part of the provider's mid-term audit, which must commence by 1 February 2027.”
2. “A condition has been imposed, for providers of 0107 Assistance with daily personal activities, for risk assessment of participants who choose to be supported by a single worker.”
3. “A condition is imposed for assessment of the remaining elements of the Certification audit to be conducted three months after service delivery has commenced in any of the classes of support that require certification assessment.”
Two of the three set when parts of the provider's audit are conducted; the other requires a risk assessment for participants who choose to be supported by a single worker. The Commission's page for Tenax Supports holds the current version.
What to ask before choosing an NDIS provider
Ask which of your supports they can deliver in your suburb, and how soon. Registration shows what a provider is permitted to deliver. It does not tell you whether they have capacity for it this month.
Ask who your regular support worker would be, what happens when that person is unavailable, and how complaints are handled. For a registered provider, complaints can also go to the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission.
If any sub-contracted services matter to you (Positive Behaviour Support or Social Work in this case), ask who the sub-contracted specialist is, which registration group covers them, and whether their invoice comes from Tenax Supports or from the specialist directly.
Finding NDIS support in Western Melbourne
Tarneit sits in the City of Wyndham, in the Western Melbourne NDIS service district. Tenax Supports gives its service area as Wyndham, which covers Werribee, Hoppers Crossing, Point Cook, Williams Landing, Wyndham Vale and surrounding suburbs.
Comparing a few providers is worth the time, especially where continuity of the individual worker matters as much as the organisation.
