SRN Care & Support is a Blacktown-based disability support business working across Western Sydney. It is a sole-trader business (ABN 58 241 303 751) active on the Australian Business Register since February 2022.

SRN Care & Support works with self-managed and plan-managed NDIS participants. It is not registered with the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission, which does not prevent it from supporting participants funded either of those ways — but an NDIA-managed (agency-managed) participant generally cannot use an unregistered provider. Which category you fall into is the thing to check before booking.

Unregistered NDIS providers — what that means for you
SRN Care & Support is not registered with the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission. It is honest to say so plainly, because for some participants it matters and for others it does not.
If your plan is self-managed or plan-managed, you can use any provider you choose, registered or not, so long as the support is a reasonable and necessary use of your funding. If your plan is NDIA-managed, you generally need a registered provider to invoice the NDIA directly, so an unregistered provider is not usually an option.
Sort out the funding route before the first shift, not after.
What to ask before choosing a support worker
Ask who would actually be providing your support and what happens if that person is sick or away. With a small business, continuity usually depends on one or two people, which can be a strength and is worth understanding up front.
Ask for the hourly rates in writing, including weekend, evening and public-holiday rates and how travel is charged, before the first shift.
Ask what worker screening is in place. Unregistered providers can still hold an NDIS Worker Screening Check, and it is reasonable to ask.
