About Telehealth Psychology Australia

Telehealth Psychology Australia (brand “THPA”) is a two-psychologist online practice working with children and adults across Australia by secure video. The business is Telehealth Psychology Australia Pty Ltd (ABN 83 695 737 154), an Australian private company active since February 2026. The published business address is Level 18, 324 Queen Street, Brisbane QLD 4000, a virtual office — THPA does not run a physical clinic, and the site is explicit that every session is telehealth.

In their own words: “We offer unhurried, continuous, evidence-based care — the same psychologist each time, from wherever you are comfortable.” THPA takes NDIS referrals from self-managed and plan-managed participants only, under Capacity Building, Improved Daily Living. It is not registered with the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission, and the site repeats this on its NDIS page. Participants on NDIA-managed plans generally cannot use an unregistered provider.

THPA also sees clients under Medicare Better Access, DVA (Gold and White Card holders with a D904 referral) and WorkCover Queensland. Those are separate funding routes from the NDIS and are not covered by this listing.

Services Telehealth Psychology Australia provides

The services below are taken from Telehealth Psychology Australia’s own website. Availability can vary, so confirm directly that a specific support is offered and fits your plan.

  • Psychological therapy — individual therapy for anxiety, depression, OCD, trauma, ADHD, grief and loss, sleep difficulties, stress and burnout, behavioural issues, and adjusting to chronic illness and pain. Modalities named on the site: CBT, ACT, DBT skills, schema therapy, EMDR, supportive therapy and behavioural therapy.
  • Psychological assessments — functional and clinical assessments to support therapy, with progress and functional-impact letters available for plan reviews.
  • Telehealth across Australia — every session is by secure video. There is no physical clinic to attend; sessions reach the city, the suburbs and the regions equally.

THPA does not write NDIS behaviour support plans — the site states that work is reserved for Commission-approved behaviour support practitioners. The two psychologists apply positive behaviour support principles within therapy, which is a different thing.

Unregistered NDIS providers โ€” what that means for you

Telehealth Psychology Australia is not registered with the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission. It is honest to say so plainly, because for some participants it matters and for others it does not.

If your plan is self-managed or plan-managed, you can use any provider you choose, registered or not, so long as the support is a reasonable and necessary use of your funding. If your plan is NDIA-managed, you generally need a registered provider to invoice the NDIA directly, so an unregistered practice is not usually an option. THPA’s own NDIS page says the same.

Sort out the funding route before the first appointment, not after.

What to ask before choosing a psychologist

Ask which psychologist you would see and whether you can keep seeing the same person. Continuity matters in therapy and is particularly important for trauma, OCD and other longer-course work. THPA’s own position is to prioritise continuity of clinician, so this is a reasonable thing to confirm in writing.

For reports and letters, ask up front whether they are billed at the session rate, and what the usual turnaround is. For NDIS plan reviews, you will probably want a short functional-impact letter rather than a formal diagnostic report; agreeing scope before the review date saves time and money.

Telehealth works for many people and not for everyone. Ask about session structure, how crisis contact works between sessions, and what happens if the connection drops mid-session.

NDIS supports in Brisbane

Brisbane sits inside the NDIA Brisbane service district. Telehealth Psychology Australia is a telehealth-only practice: there is no physical clinic in Brisbane, and sessions are delivered by secure video to participants anywhere in Australia. The virtual-office address in the Brisbane CBD is the registered business location, not a venue participants attend.

Comparing a few psychologists is worth the time, especially where the fit with the individual clinician is going to matter more than the practice brand.
