Understanding behaviour support under the NDIS

A positive behaviour support plan (PBSP) is the central deliverable of an NDIS behaviour support engagement. The behaviour support practitioner must be registered with the Commission, every use of a restrictive practice must be reported within 5 business days, and the plan must include explicit strategies to reduce and ideally eliminate the practice over time. Restrictive practices used outside an approved PBSP attract regulatory action against the provider.
